A Triumph of Surgery Summary In English

- The story is narrated by Mr. Herriot, a veterinary surgeon, who is concerned about a dog named Tricki.

- Tricki, owned by Mrs. Pumphrey, has become extremely overweight and shows signs of illness, such as red eyes and a protruding tongue.

- Mrs. Pumphrey believes Tricki lacks energy and attempts to improve its condition by giving it a rich diet including malt, cod liver oil, Horlicks, cream cakes, and chocolates despite Mr. Herriot's warning against it.

- Mr. Herriot advises Mrs. Pumphrey to reduce Tricki's food intake and provide more exercise to prevent serious health issues.

- As Tricki's health deteriorates further, Mr. Herriot suggests hospitalization for about two weeks.

- Tricki is taken to the hospital with all its belongings provided by Mrs. Pumphrey.

- Initially, Tricki is ignored by other dogs in the hospital but gradually begins to show improvement.

- Tricki is not given any medicinal treatment but is allowed to interact and play with other dogs, which boosts its recovery.

- Mrs. Pumphrey continues to inquire about Tricki's progress and provides fresh eggs and even wine and brandy on the narrator's recommendation to enhance its strength.

- After a fortnight, Mr. Herriot informs Mrs. Pumphrey that Tricki is now healthy and ready to go home.

- Mrs. Pumphrey arrives at the surgery to take Tricki back and witnesses the dog's joyous reunion with her as it licks her face and barks.

- Tricki's recovery is seen as a triumph of surgery, and Mrs. Pumphrey expresses gratitude and emotions as she leaves with Tricki.
